13-year-old accused of pulling a knife on a boy at the Eastmont pump track

A 13-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly pulling a knife and threatening an 11-year-old boy Sunday afternoon at Eastmont Community Park in East Wenatchee.

East Wenatchee police say the incident started when the 13-year-old was sitting on the park’s pump track, blocking the path of the kids using the track.

After being asked to move, there was an argument between the 13-year-old and the 11-year-old during which the 13-year-old pulled a knife, held it out toward the victim and walked toward him, police said.

One witness told police the knife was held within two feet of the other boy.

Witness accounts of the incident were confirmed by video taken in the park, police said, and the 13-year-old was arrested for 2nd degree assault and taken to Chelan County Juvenile Detention.
