Apple Capital Loop Trail Advocate Bob Parlette Dies

WENATCEE- -NCWLIFE notes the passing of prominent Wenatchee area attorney, Bob Parlette. The man who is credited for helping drive the development of the Apple Capital Loop Trail died Tuesday at his home.

Parlette was married to former State Senator, Linda Evans-Parlette. He practiced law and also served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Chelan County PUD but it was his advocacy for the area’s natural resources and longtime commitment to creating more public access to the Columbia River waterfront that endeared him to many in the outdoor recreation community.

Most recently Parlette was involved in a successful effort to establish a public trail along the Wenatchee River in Peshastin. Parlette graduated from the US Air Force Academy and was a fighter pilot during the Viet Nam War. He then attended the University of Washington where he received his law degree in 1972. Parlette was 76 years old. He’s survived by his wife, Linda, five grandchildren and three granddaughters.
