An accident involving several vehicles has closed Sunset Highway north of East Wenatchee, with 11 people needing to be transported to the hospital, said Trooper John Bryant of the Washington State Patrol.
One of the injured is in critical condition and two others serious condition, Bryant said.
The accident was reported at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, and involved a semi colliding with several vehicles and a separate head-on collision, he said.
It is likely to be an extended closure of the highway, with Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies, Washington State Patrol and fire and aid crews on the scene.
Bryant said the cause of the accident is unclear at this point.
The wreck is at milepost 129, about 2-and-a-half miles outside East Wenatchee City limits.
