About 1,000 bales of hay weighing 500 tons have burned in the Jameson Lake fire near Mansfield, the Douglas County Sheriff’s office reports.
Also, three pieces of farm equipment have been lost or severely damaged in the fire, which is described as naturally caused.
No structures have been threatened and there have been no injuries. The remaining stacks of hay will be allowed to burn out naturally, which is expected to result in heavy smoke in the area.
The fire is in the 500 block of North Jameson Lake Road and started Thursday night. The property owners are monitoring the fire.
