Students learn about energy resources at Rocky Reach S.T.E.M. Event


Rocky Reach Dam is hosting a S.T.E.M. event this week. S.T.E.M. stands for Science technology engineering and math. This program focuses on education in Energy resources, it requires students to attend for 40 hours and earns them a college credit upon completion.

While most students were from the North Central Washington area, there were a few from the Seattle area and one from Paris, France. During the week, they have toured through not only Rocky Reach Dam but also Lake Chelan’s dam.

Students range from freshman to seniors in high school. Instructors challenge students to think creatively about energy resources. yesterday afternoon Students were placed in competition with each other to see who could build the best solar powered race car.
