Polar Plunge fundraiser brings the brave to the river

WENATCHEE – Dozens of hearty soles braved the cold water at Walla Walla Park’s swimming lagoon Saturday. The Polar Plunge fundraiser put on by the Wenatchee City Parks and Recreation Department and local fire and law enforcement benefits athletes competing in next month’s Washington State Special Olympics Winter Games in Wenatchee.

Carol Andre, Director of the Parks and Rec. Department was a guest on this morning’s Street Talk and Other Stuff and says this year’s event was a big success.

The Washington State Special Olympics Winter Games will be held in Wenatchee in March.
