(Pullman, WA)…And then there were three. Wenatchee graduate Cody O’Connell, now the starting left guard for the Washington State Cougars, is one of three finalists for the Outland Trophy.
O’Connell is a 4th year junior with only 10-starts in his college career, which makes the Outland spotlight shine even more brightly for the 6’8″ 354-pounder WSU coach Mike Leach calls “The Continent.” The award is given to college football’s most outstanding interior lineman, offense or defense.
O’Connell is the first Cougar finalist for the Outland Trophy since Rien Long won it in 2002. The other semifinalists are Alabama’s Cam Robinson and Ohio State’s Pat Elfein. The winner will be announced Thursday, December 8th on ESPN.
Be sure to join Cody’s parents during our special Apple Cup edition of Wake Up Wenatchee Valley Thanksgiving morning on the NCWLIFE Channel.
