Everett Hiker Disappears on the Pacific Crest Trail

Gavin Johnston

The call is going out for a missing hiker who disappeared earlier this month while walking the Pacific Crest Trail. Family members are asking for help locating 28 year old Gavin J Johnston, from Everett, who was last seen on October 21st walking the trail near Snoqualmie Pass. A multi-County search was launched after a Chelan County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered Johnston’s abandoned vehicle near the summit of Stevens Pass. Sheriff’s Spokesman, Jason Reinfeld says a helicopter search has turned up nothing so far . . .

Johnston reportedly told his father he wanted to hike the PCT for the next two months. Johnston is described as an inexperienced hiker without adequate gear for the conditions. If you have seen him or heard from him, call RiverCom at 663-9911.
