WENATCHEE- A two-vehicle crash sent five people to the hospital this morning in Downtown Wenatchee. It happened at Orondo and Wenatchee Avenue shortly after 6:30 a.m.
The collision involved a GMC Denali pickup and a 16-passenger bus
One of the vehicles ran a red light, causing the T-bone hit. Captain Edgar Reinfeld with the Wenatchee Police Department says the streets were deceptively slick this morning which may have been a factor.
“There wasn’t really a frost this morning but the surface was wet enough that the vehicles moved 40 to 50 feet after the collision, including a bus and this heavy duty pick-up truck,” Reinfeld said. “It’s a good illustration that it’s dangerous and remind people to slow down, make sure your windows are defrosted and watch the surface conditions.”
Reinfeld said the accident blocked the intersection for nearly an hour. The injured were transported to Confluence Health but Reinfeld described the injuries as minor.
