LEAVENWORTH- At the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth, the Community Foundation of North Central Washington and Icicle Fund together hosted their annual dinner to honor volunteer board members of non-profit organization on Oct. 11, 2017.

Peter Drury, Vice President for Mission Advancement of the Make a Wish Foundation, was the keynote speaker where he shared insights on how to improve the effectiveness of non-profits when interacting with the community with which they serve.

Drury has extensive experience working with charities, nonprofits, and community foundations. His goal was to inspire the evening with the impact of storytelling to engage our communities in supporting charitable causes.

The Annual Board Celebration Dinners that honor and recognize nonprofit board volunteer service is for current board members of nonprofits in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties.

“Volunteer board service is a vital component of a nonprofit, and we want board members to know we appreciate their dedication to improving their community through the nonprofits they are passionate about,” said Beth Stipe, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “The Board Celebration Dinners honors their service to community, and it’s a fun, inspiring night that reminds us all how important our nonprofit sector is to a great quality of life.”
