Campfire restrictions lifted on National Forest lands

In a news release yesterday, the U.S. Forest Service announced that campfire restrictions have been lifted for National Forest lands.

Locally, in Chelan and Kittitas counties, campfires are allowed in all areas of the National Forest except where they are prohibited year-round or where fire closures are in effect.

In Okanogan County, campfires are allowed in metal fire rings in established campgrounds and in wilderness areas except for locations where fire closures are in effect.
