Aircraft Firefighting Training Planned at Pangborn Airport


EAST WENATCHEE, Wa.- Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) personnel from Pangborn Memorial Airport and Douglas County Fire District #2 will be conducting live fire training on the airport starting today and extending into next week.  A mobile training prop will be used to simulate the types of fires that emergency crews might encounter in an aircraft crash.  All training activities will be inside the airport perimeter fence on the east side of the Airport, but fire apparatus and flames may be visible to area residents and passersby during the training activities.

Steve and his wife Lynette and their three sons moved to the Wenatchee Valley from Central California in 1992. During his radio career Steve has received many awards from organizations such as the Associated Press, (Sacramento and Seattle Bureaus) The Washington State Farm Bureau, and the California Medical Association. Steve is a sports addict. Time off usually finds him sprawled out on the couch watching the Seahawks, Mariners or anything that prevents him from doing house chores.
